Tom Mabon
Tom Mabon is a Scottish rural landscape painter. His evocative oil on linen paintings capture the shifting light and wildlife of the farming seasons on the Black Isle, where he has lived since 1985.
Mabon's acquaintance with the landscape of the Black Isle is palpable in the carefully constructed compositions and his mastery of colour and tone.
Tom Mabon was born in 1956 in Kirkcaldy, Fife and trained at Gray's School of Art, Aberdeen from 1974 to 1978. Mabon has won many awards since graduating, most notably a major prize at the 7th Cleveland International Drawing Biennale in 1985 and the Royal Glasgow Institute Armour Award in 2012. Mabon's works are held in many public and private collections and he has exhibited widely in Scotland and the UK throughout his career.
