Sarah Carrington : Sea Sanctuary

Overview
"So often we find ourselves drawn to nature, to the coast, the sea, its rhythm and its power. The coast offers a solace and retreat from the bustle and noise of the human world. A sea sanctuary."

Edinburgh born landscape artist Sarah Carrington evokes mood and weather in her mixed media coastal landscapes. Now based in the north coast of Ireland, Carrington paints the familiar coastlines of both homelands, exploring the similarities between these two Celtic lands.

Sarah has been working as a professional artist since graduating in 1999 from The University of Edinburgh in Fine Art. She is constantly drawn to the natural landscapes around her, in particular the coastline of Scotland and that of her current home on the north coast of Ireland. These areas offer beauty and escape, and she recreates these spacious views and vistas through painting and mark-making, often incorporating gold leaf.

Sarah Carrington graduated in 1999 with a sell-out degree show and an MA in Fine Art from the University of Edinburgh and Edinburgh College of Art. She has exhibited regularly throughout the UK and her works are held in public and private collections nationally.
