Overview
Considered by many critics and curators as being the most significant Scottish painter of the twentieth century, this exhibition is a celebration of John Bellany's life (1942 - 2013). It is also a commemoration of the 10th anniversary of his death in which the Open Eye Gallery is proud to present works held in the Bellany Estate, ranging from the urgency of his fertile student years; through the twists and turns of his dramatic journey; until his final years of serenity, which he spent in the beauty of the Serchio valley in Italy.
