About the artist - Ann Oram RSW
Ann Oram studied Drawing and Painting at Edinburgh College of Art from 1976 to 1982. After her postgraduate year and Andrew Grant Scholarship to France and Italy, she returned to Edinburgh College of Art to lecture in the Painting school between 1983 and 1985. In 1986 she was elected member of the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour. From 1987 to 1988 Oram spent a year living and painting in Southern Spain. In 1991 she won the May Marshall Brown Award at the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour and began another period of lecturing at Edinburgh College of Art, where she remained until 1993. In 1998 she won the Sir William Gillies Award from the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour.
From 2006 to 2007 she lived in Vienna, Austria and from here, visited and worked in Switzerland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Italy and Hungary. Her extensive travelling experience has greatly influenced her work.
Oram exhibits widely throughout the UK, including London, Oxfordshire, Newcastle and Edinburgh. Her work is held in many private and corporate collections worldwideSign up to our Ann Oram RSW mailing list
